Upen Rai, Director at Times Internet Limited (Indiatimes), the online arm of Times Group (BCCL), along with Sandeep Amar, Head of Marketing, at Indiatimes have put in their papers at the company, reports MediaNama. Besides, the entire group has undergone a restructuring with each product division being taken care of by a business head.
The group is going through a massive rejig which started with former CEO Rishi Khiani moving out of the company. Recently, Gautam Sinha was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO). In July 2012, the company had appointed former iYogi executive Joy Basu as its Chief Financial Officer.
In an email sent to the entire group by Times Internet CEO Satyan Gajwani, it was mentioned that Avinash Mudaliar will now look after Gaana.com, while Rajat Dev will be responsible for the horizontal design function, and Harshavardhan T will be responsible for running Indiatimes.com, in addition to working on Indiatimes’ IPL startegy. Both Harshavardhan and Rajat Dev will report to Gautam Sinha, COO of Indiatimes.
Upen Rai joined Indiatimes in 2001, and also served as Chief Operating Officer at Zoom, Times Group’s lifestyle television channel from 2004 to 2006. His other stints include Buena Vista TV – Walt Disney and Zee TV.
Sandeep Amar had joined Times Group in 2007 as the head of marketing at Times Business Solutions. In 2009, he was made the Head of Marketing and Audience at Indiatimes. He’s also worked with Zee Telefilms, Citigroup, and Hindustan Times.
