Sandeep Amar, the former Head of Marketing, at Indiatimes, who had put in his papers at the company on September 2012, has joined mobile internet company One97 Communications as the head of Mobile Advertising and Marketing. Sandeep Amar will be joining One97 from today and will directly report to Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder of One97 Communications.

Sandeep Amar had joined Times Group in 2007 as the head of marketing at Times Business Solutions. In 2009, he was made the Head of Marketing and Audience at Indiatimes. He’s also worked with Zee Telefilms, Citigroup, and Hindustan Times.

We also hear from reliable sources that Upen Rai, former Director at Times Internet, who had also resigned at the same time, is reportedly joining hands with Rishi Khiani in his entrepreneurial venture. Khiani had resigned from the company in June 2012, since when Satyan Gajwani took over as the CEO of Times Internet.

Upen Rai joined Indiatimes in 2001, and also served as Chief Operating Officer at Zoom, Times Group’s lifestyle television channel from 2004 to 2006. His other stints include Buena Vista TV – Walt Disney and Zee TV.
