Sachin and Binny Bansal, the poster boys of ecommerce in India, and the co-founders of FlipKart, have been named in Fortune's young achievers list for their initiatives in creating job opportunities. According to '40 under 40' list prepared by Fortune, Sachin and Binny Bansal, have bagged the 26th place. The ranking is topped by Google CEO Lary Page, followed by Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Fortune Magazine's 40 under 40 List details influential persons under the age of 40 in who have succeeded in some area of business throughout the world. Criteria for being deemed one of the 40 under 40 include being innovators, disruptors, and job creators, all in addition to being notable cross-industry.
The other Indian making the list is Aditya Ghosh of Indigo Airlines. Besides, Marissa Mayer has grabbed the third rank within months of joining Yahoo. The internet firm had appointed Mayer, a longtime Google executive, as President and CEO of Yahoo in mid-July.
Others in the top five are Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Greg Jensen of Bridgewater Associates and Twitter and Square co-founder Jack Dorsey.
The publication said the Bansals started Flipkart in 2007, which originally sold books like Amazon, but has since become the largest e-commerce site in India. It further said," Last year, Flipkart hired 2,000 new employees and says it will grow fast enough to hire 5,000 more in the coming year."
