PlatformPlay has appointed former Reprise Media executive Abhishek Punia as Director and Head Of Supply and Strategy. Abhishek has close to six years of experience with Interactive Avenues where he has dabbled in multiple roles and was last Account director as well as Head of Buying for North market and recently moved into the Coke account with Reprise Media, which is a JV between IA and IPG Media Brands.
Rammohan Sundaram, CMD PlatformPlay said, “Abhi is one such resource who is joining my leadership team and we have several exciting roll outs that we would be working together on and I looking forward to the journey with him. PlatformPlay is unique in many ways given that they are in multiple models including BOT, JV, Consulting, Representation for monetization and Events; Abhishek moving from a digital agency to “everything digital” is a natural progression given that he fits in all the models of the company in one go.”
Speaking on his new role, Abhishek said, “I wanted to do something different after spending six wonderful years at IA and Reprise and when an Entrepreneurial role like this came my way it took me not more than a day to make a decision to join Ram’s venture. We already are on a roll with some great work we have embarked on at PlatformPlay and I am looking forward to an exciting innings here.”
PlatformPlay has been aggressively working to make its footprint in the market by bringing major international brands to India. It has recently announced its partnership with TechCrunch to bring their City Events into the country. It has also won monetisation rights of Brizz TV and NLPCaptcha.
The startup is Ram’s second entrepreneurial venture having sold his previous company NetworkPlay to Bertelsmann AG’s Gruner + Jahr. Backed by SVG Group which owns majority shareholding with Manish Vij on the board, PlatformPlay has offices in Gurgaon, Bombay and Bangalore.
