Exclusive: PlatformPlay brings TechCrunch's event series to India

NetworkPlay’s founder and former CEO Rammohan Sundaram who has launched his second entrepreneurial venture ‘PlatformPlay’ in March this year, has partnered with AOL owned technology focused media portal, TechCrunch to bring its event series in India. A series of two-day conferences will be conducted starting with Bangalore in November of 2013, followed by Mumbai in April 2014 and culminating in New Delhi that August.

TechCrunch’s events in India will include notable tech, investor and entrepreneurship speakers, a startup pitch competition and a startup exhibition floor. There will be space for sponors to display their goods and services.

Speaking to India Digital Review, Ram said, “Given that venture capitalists invested close to $1.2 Billion USD in the Indian marketplace last year alone, it’s clear the tech community is eager to find the next big thing in and from India.”

“Everyone knows about India’s wealth of techand entrepreneurial talent, and we are eager to bring our TechCrunch events platform to India to help everyone move forward,” added Ned Desmond, Chief Operating Officer of TechCrunch. “We believe that hostingthis conference series inIndiais an important step to deepen the connections amongst the global tech community.”

TechCrunch profiles startups, reviewing new Internet products and breaking tech news. The property claims to have a community of over two million friends and followerson Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google and other social media. CrunchBase, TechCrunch's open database about start-up companies, people and investors, has become the leading statistical resource for technology companies and transactions.

Backed by SVG Media and Manish Vij on its board, PlatformPlay focuses on helping international brands launch in India through its Build, Operate and Transfer Model along with Joint Ventures as India entry specialists.
