The Chief Technology Officer of Smile Interactive Technology Group, CP Singh has launched a SaaS based venture called Smart Schooling which provides online technology solutions to education institutions. Launched in January this year, Smart Schooling is currently working with 25 schools and colleges. It offers six services including Fee Management System, Online School Admission, School Bus tracking, Student attendance, Smart Student information System and Smart Campus.

Speaking on the intent behind launching Smart Schooling, Singh says Indian Education Sector is moving towards a digital future and the SaaS based solutions are the need of the hour, “There is a trend in Urban as well as rural areas to opt for private education. A recent trend is that schools in tier two and tier three cities are increasingly adopting the latest technology. Even parents want the best for their wards and are not averse to paying a little extra. They see value in these initiatives adopted by schools in order to modernize. We have received positive response from the Management & School Authorities we have reached across so far.”

The pricing of the solutions are based on pay per usage basis.

“We charge very nominal fees for SSIS with a minimum guarantee from schools. For Other offerings, the cost is again nominal with respect of the benefits school and parents will be getting,” added Singh.

Smart Schooling is working with private schools and colleges on being asked whether they will approach government schools, he informs, “We have so far not focused on govt schools but we have got several schools for providing security and surveillance solutions and online attendance system.”

The company’s online fee management system helps parents to pay fess online while it makes easier for school administration to maintain a secure database of accounts. It also provides online tracking of fees and other school accounts and 24×7 operation of program; allowing transaction to happen any time.

Similarly, company’s other offering aims to bring a sea change in the way schools and colleges operate. Online admission system aims to bring transparency in the process while cutting down the manual error chances and time consumed in the process.

While the school bus tracking system helps parents keeps a real time tracking on their wards’ whereabouts while they are travelling.

Refusing to reveal their monthly orders, Singh said they will be setting revenue targets in the second year of operation.

Smart Schooling is currently bootstrapped and aims to consolidate its operations in Delhi/NCR, Punjab Chandigarh and Mohali.
