Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has said that from November 2011, employees in West Bengal will be able to check their provident fund balance online. The EPFO has been offering this online tracking facility since July 1 2011 to employees in Bangalore, Delhi and some parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, and 1,57,138 employees have checked their account balances till August 4 2011 through this facility. The remaining EPFO offices are likely to go live by the end of this financial year.

“By November it will be online for all practical purposes,” said A.M. Raju, who replaced S.L. Srivastava as additional central provident fund commissioner for Bengal, Northeast and Jharkhand. Once the users select their office anfd provide their EPF account number, name and mobile phone number, the details of the account will be sent as a text message to your number.
