Naspers backed online marketplace Tradus.com has acquired ecommerce portal BuyThePrice.com with the homepage of the latter flashing the following message:-

Dear visitor, we are happy to inform you that BuyThePrice.com is now part of the Tradus.com, India's leading marketplace. The entire Buytheprice catalogue is now available on Tradus.com. It is to be noted that Tradus.com is a marketplace which will now stock BuyThePrice.com’s catalogue which is an ecommerce portal. So, now the company will hold the inventory for the latter is still not clear.

Tradus had invested Rs 8.5 crore in BuyThePrice over a year ago. IbiboGroup has recently appointed seventymm.com’s CEO Mudit Khosla in the same profile at the ecommerce marketplace, Tradus.com.

Launched in March 2010 by Ranjith Boyanapalli, BuyThePrice.com raised its first round of funding from Google India MD Rajan Anandan, Rehan Yar Khan, Sunil Kalra and several other investors in 2010. The company then said that the funds will be utilized in creating technology differentiators, marketing, human capital and setting up new offices. Rajan Anandan and Rehan Yar Khan have joined the BuyThePrice board of directors.
