Info Edge invests Rs 5 crore in Happily Unmarried; acquires 25% stake

Info Edge (India), which runs Naukri.com, has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that the company has invested an amount of Rs. 5 crore through optionally convertible cumulative redeemable preference shares in Happily Unmarried Marketing Private Limited. With this Info Edge owns about 25% of Happily Unmarried, on a fully diluted and converted basis.

Happily Unmarried is engaged in the business of designing and selling fun products through offline stores and will also now be expanding its online business through its website HappilyUnmarried.com.

Happily Unmarried is a product design brand from India. Based in Delhi, it was founded in 2002, by Rahul Anand and Rajat Tuli, both alumni of Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA), known for its quirky products

Happily Unmarried collaborates with many designers, craftsmen from across the country to combine traditional skills and modern design to create a lifestyle products and ordinary household goods. The brand sells in over 47 stores across Indian also runs its own two exclusive outlets in Delhi, including one in Khan Market and Goa. The company has been organising an independent music festival called Music in the Hills, since 2007.

Earlier this year, Info Edge had invested Rs 12.86 crore more in Zomato.com, thus taking its total investment in Zomato to Rs 31.06 crore and its total holding to 48.5 per cent. The company also invested an additional Rs 5 crore on 99labels.com, taking its total investment in the company to around $4.5 million. Prior to that, the company invested $6.5 million (Rs 35 crore) in Bangalore-based online photography company Canvera Digital Technologies Pvt Ltd. Besides these, Info Edge has also made investments into MeritNation.com, PolicyBazaar.com, MyDala.com, and Floost.com.
