Guruji.com launches online ad network AdGuru/AdYantra
04 Mar 2009
Internet search company Guruji.com has launched an online ad network, called AdGuru for publishers and AdYantra for advertisers. [The name just reminds Google’s AdSense and AdWords!] It appears that AdGuru/AdYantra has already signed a number of clients including MakeMyTrip, BookMyShow, BharatMatrimony, ShareKhan, Cleartrip, ICICI Bank, ApnaLoan, eBay and Gillette.

Guruji.com is funded by Sequoia Capital India which has also invested in Indiatimes, Travelguru and Shaadi. Globally, Sequoia Capital has been an early investor in companies such as Google, Yahoo, Apple, Oracle, Cisco and YouTube.

The current players in the online ad network business in India include Komli Media, Ozone Media, Tyroo Media, AdMagnet, AdChakra, InviziAds, Vdopia, TonicTag, Fox Networks, Sulekha.com and NetworkPlay, besides Google. [We are awaiting response from Guruji.com to get more details about AdGuru/AdYantra]

I think tyroo is better than guruji for Indian publishers, i have found some bad reviews about guruji and therefore i have decided not to try them.

Why are people suddenly commenting on some shady news thats old and stale? Nothing can do well without a right leader, Anurag might be a good techie but they need a leader, with their dodo pheku sales head in Sushant, its a wasted effort.

Great for publishers with Indian content. I've been in touch with Guruji search advertising team recently, and they are looking for content that targets NRI's.

Congratulations to Anurag and Guruji.com for adding a new Advertising Network in India.

Online Advertising segment is becoming more and more popular particularly in the time of the global recession and this step will encourage the Indian Businesses to spend more on net as they have one more opportunity to advertise online. Competition will increase and advertisers and publishers will get good deals.

For the last few months, Guruji.com is becoming more and more popular and you can see the example at http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/guruji.com?q=
http://trends.google.com/websites?q=guruji.com&geo=all&date=all&sort=0

It shows how fast it is becoming popular. The AdNetwork will give better opportunities to Indian publishers who want to make some extra money by their marketing skills.

Best Luck...
