Ecommerce portal, FlipKart’s Chief Financial Officer Karandeep Singh has quit the company citing personal reasons. The resignation comes at a time when enforcement directorate (ED) is probing the firm for possible violation of FDI norms in multi-brand retailing. Singh has been associated with the company for over a year.
Confirming the development to India Digital Review, FlipKart’s CEO Sachin Bansal said, “Karandeep has been a great business leader and a respected team member. He has contributed immensely to the company’s growth in this past year not only professionally but also as a well-loved mentor and colleague and he will be sorely missed at FlipKart. Though we are sorry to see him go – we understand that personal commitments sometimes take precedence and we wish him only the very best in his future endeavors.”
The company has started the hunt to fill the vacant position, confirmed company’s spokesperson.
Speaking on his resignation and his stint at FlipKart, Karandeep Singh said “Working with FlipKart has been a great opportunity and I am glad to have been able to contribute to the FlipKart growth story. It has been a great learning experience working with a young, dynamic team and while I would have loved to continue my work here, for personal reasons have decided to move on. I wish Team FlipKart the very best!”
Karandeep Singh has a experience of over two decades with a working profile in companies like Dell, Moser Baer, Ariba and Yum Brands. to joining FlipKart, he was with Sapient Corporation as vice-president (finance) and managing director where he led the India opertions.
