Exclusive: TBSL CEO Debashish Ghosh resigns; Satyan Gajwani to take interim charge
02 Jan 2013

Debashish Ghosh, CEO of Times Business Solutions Limited (TBSL), the online classifieds business of the Times of India group (BCCL), has put in his papers at the company. According to numerous sources close to the development, this was communicated internally within the company through an email and Satyan Gajwani, CEO, Times Internet Limited (TIL) has taken the interim charge of TBSL. The company is also in the lookout for a replacement for Ghosh.

It is also rumored that Ghosh will be joining Zee Group, but we couldn’t confirm the details. Debashish Ghosh took over the charge of CEO of TBSL from R. Sundar, the founding CEO of the company in February 2012.

Ghosh took full charge of TBSL on the 1st of March 2012. Debashish Ghosh has been with the Times of India Group for 17 years, and was associated as the Director Unified IT & Response at the group. He has also been the CTO at Times Internet Ltd earlier.

TBSL operates recruitment portal TimesJobs.com, real estate portal MagicBricks.com, matrimonial website SimplyMarry.com and Ads2Book.com which serves as a service to print personal classified ads across media houses in the country. New offerings from TBSL includes YoList.com - an online classified solution, PeerPower.com, an exclusive senior professional networking site and Brix Research - the knowledge wing of MagicBricks.com.

The merger or consolidation of TBSL with TIL is an expected move, now that Times Group finally has a family member at the helm. It is very natural for for Papa Jain and Chacha Jain to give Satyan enough match practice, so that when they grow old, he can do justice to the huge Times empire he will inherit.

As doe Debashish, guess he has risen to the max level he could have within the group. Very little left for him to scale or achieve in BCCL or its subsidiaries. He is a very bright guy and he deserves to move on. And now with his former boss Bhaskar Das on the hot seat at Zee, it is only natural that he will receive an offer.

Dont think one should make it into who likes Satyan and who doesnt like whoever else. They are all professionals and Satyan's destiny has made him a part of the family. God bless him.
