Cisco launches MyHumanNetwork.com, a networking site focused on social causes
Cisco has launched MyHumanNetwork.com, a networking site where people connect, collaborate and try to make a difference in the world around them. The website allows individuals and organizations across India to associate with causes and initiatives close to their heart, interact with like-minded people and share ideas, thoughts, experiences and solutions through blogs, videos and events.
MyHumanNetwork.com is built on the Google Earth application, allowing members and visitors to choose a particular initiative by selecting causes within a specific geographic location on the map or through a search function that can assist in filtering causes and initiatives based on the interests of the user.
According to Cisco, 40 NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and individuals from across India have already registered on MyHumanNetwork.com under different categories such as economic development and infrastructure, education, environment and animal welfare, healthcare, and social welfare. The company is targeting over 250 NGOs and individuals to register on the site in the next six to nine months.
“MyHumanNetwork.com signifies the power of the human network,†Naresh Wadhwa, president and country manager, Cisco – India & SAARC, has said. “I am confident that this platform will give a fillip to the numerous organizations in India that are engaged in positive social change.â€
Shridhar Venkat, executive director, Akshaya Patra Foundation, has said, “Akshaya Patra and Cisco have a strategic relationship for achieving our vision of 'no child in India should be deprived of education because of hunger'. This platform will help us in social networking and reaching out to many of our prospective supporters and well wishers.â€
