Mumbai based real estate portal, Housing.co.in has expanded its operations in Chennai, Ghaziabad and Noida. The addition of Ghaziabad and Noida comes as a boost to Housing’s presence in the NCR constituency while Chennai is Housing’s South Indian debut city.
The company claims that about 55,000 people participated in a poll conducted on its Facebook page. Around 22, 000 voted for Chennai.
Co- founder Advitiya Sharma, said, “We are thrilled by the response that we have received from our users in this one year. We do it for them anyway. It’s been an amazing journey so far, and we're really excited. I am sure that Housing will work its magic phenomenally in these three new cities as well.”
The firm has also completed the Housing Lifestyle Feature for Noida and Ghaziabad. It is a complex algorithm that takes into account the location, amenities, neighbourhood and connectivity of a house to quantify the overall feeling of living in it. The feature will soon be extended to Chennai users.
In June this year, Housing.co.in raised $2.5mn funding from Nexus Venture Partners. In March the company raised a second round of funding from former Network 18 CEO, Haresh Chawla. The amount remains undisclosed. In February this year, the startup has raised an undisclosed sum from a group of angel investors, led by Zishaan Hayath.
Owned and operated by Mumbai-based Locon Solutions Pvt Ltd, the portal has reached operational break-even in Mumbai and has announced expansion to the cities Pune, Gurgaon and Hyderabad last month.
