Gmail gets a facelift to ensure clutter free experience
30 May 2013

Google’s email service, Gmail has got a facelift as the company announced a new design. The incoming mails will now be pre-sorted into categories like from friends, social notifications, deals and offers, confirmations and receipts etc.

The design will transform the way Gmail appears both on the desktop and in mobile applications.

The inbox organization groups are optional, and a user can choose which of the five categories, if any, they want to use. The update will be rolled out to users in the coming weeks. Users can also manually configure it through the settings tab in Gmail.

While Yahoo had 281 million users, Microsoft’s Hotmail, now known as Outlook.com, has 286 million users.
