Motorola Mobility, which delivers personalised information for consumers, has winded up its operations in India and has also closed down its website. It was formerly Motorola's networks division, which was called the Personal Communication Section (PCS), before August 15, 2011, when Google Inc. announced that it had agreed to acquire the company for US$12.5 billion.

The company has published a notice on its India website saying, “We are streamlining our business and support systems, and unfortunately, we’ll no longer have a dedicated website for India. Your local support site will remain open well into the future, and we’ll continue to provide support for our existing products.”
The company has said that its existing customers will continue to receive support for existing products and will also continue the local support website.
