10 percent of all the global video ads were consumed by India; ranks 4th in the list

India consumed 10% of all global video ads in 2017 and now is the fourth largest consumer of mobile video ads after US which consumed 22% , Indonesia which consumed 12% and China which consumed 11% of global video ads, as per the report by InMobi.
What is remarkable is the fact that India accounts for only 3% of global mobile video spends where for US, the figure is close to 49%.
The launch of Jio and data becoming cheaper courtesy all the major Telcos has contributed to this growth. In 2016, India consumed only 3% of global video ads
What’s amazing is that in 2016 India’s share of the market was a mere 3% which jumped to 10% in 2017. This surge has been attributed to telecom operators dropping their rates sharply with the entry of Jio.
The other key finding of InMobi report is that over 80% of all web traffic comes from Mobile and apps in Travel and Retail domains are the most downloaded apps by Indians.
The report also predicts that by 2021, over 75% of India`s mobile data traffic will come from video consumption.
The brands have been following this trend and mobile is fast becoming the first preference for advertisers, reportedly over 31% of advertisers plan to invest in mobile videos in coming 12 months.
