Alternate mobile payment platform, Pokkt has secured undisclosed amount of seed funding from Singapore based VC fund Jungle Ventures and Samir Bangara, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Qyuki Digital Media and the former Managing Director (Digital) of Disney UTV. The company plans to utilize the funds to build the team further. It claims to be getting great traction in the market and is confident of scaling the venture multifold by the end of this year.
Pokkt has been founded by Rohit Sharma, Ex-CEO, Digital Business Reliance ADA along with ex-colleagues Vaibhav Odhekar and Sharad Ingule. A part of inaugural batch of GSF Accelerator, Pokkt was one of the five start-ups that received funding. The accelerator is a part of the Global Super Angel Forum founded by former Reliance Entertainment president Rajesh Sawhney.Today monetisation is the biggest challenge for owners of Digital Content, products & services. As an alternate Payment Platform, POKKT helps developers and Publishers to address this challenge through an advertiser-funded model.
“We are getting great traction in the market and are confident of scaling POKKT multifold by the end of this year. In partnering with Jungle Ventures for its funding round, Pokkt would expand in South East Asian markets and would gain significantly from Jungle’s extensive network in these markets,” said Rohit Sharma.
