Satyan Gajwani becomes Managing Director, Times Internet and Gautam Sinha, CEO

Satyan Gajwani will now be Managing Director of Times Internet, earlier he was donning the role of CEO and Gautam Sinha would become CEO of Times Internet, previouly he was Chief Operating Officer at TIL, reported Exchange4media. Vineet Jain, MD of Bennett Coleman and Company Limited, will continue to be Chairman of Times Internet. The new appointments will be effective from next month.


Gautam has more than 28 years of global experience in technology companies bringing his experience in execution to the new role. Gautam has been with Times Internet for over 8 years, having served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Before Times Internet, Gautam was a Silicon valley entrepreneur and executive, building digital businesses and helping create significant value for shareholders.


Satyan Gajwani said, on Gautam's elevation as CEO, “Times Internet is the largest digital products business in India, and operating across 30+ business segments with speed and effectiveness requires executional excellence. Having worked with Gautam closely for many years, I have great confidence in his understanding and capabilities with digital businesses. Most importantly, Gautam has helped shape Times Internet’s culture, and he and I continue to believe that our roles are simply to enable and empower great business teams to execute as effectively as possible."

Leading such a diverse portfolio in today's dynamic environment is a mammoth task. Gautam started his career in 1986 as a defense scientist working on Dr. Kalam’s IGMDP program for DRDO. In 1991, he moved to the US, and after higher studies, worked for Neural Applications Corporation as a senior software engineer, building enterprise technologies using self-learning neural networks. In 1999, Gautam started his entrepreneurial journey, and worked as COO and CTO of CashEdge, a company based out of New York and California, which was acquired in 2011 for $465 million. Gautam has a B.S. in Computer Science from BIT, Mesra, and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Lowa, Lowa City.
