Rocket Internet has shut down the operations of online jewellery portal, 21diamonds.in as on clicking on any of the product the website takes you back to the homepage without adding any item to the cart. We have reached out to CEO of the Indian operations, Richa Bansal for the confirmation on the development, we will update the space as soon as we hear from her.

The development was first reported by Iamwire and it stated that May 31st was the last day of company’s operation as per various sources.

The portal does not have a payment gateway support although the website is still live with product listings. 21Diamonds started with operations in 18 countries in total but it seems that operations have been shut down in four more countries viz. USA, Poland, Russia and Australia whose sub-domains are routing to the global landing page.

Although, India is currently listed on 21diamonds’s global landing page it might be removed soon.

The portal’s Facebook and Twitter handles were last updates in the fisrt week of May. Launched in 2012 and headquartered in Gurgaon company’s Indian operations were led by Richa Bansal.

In May this year, 21Diamonds' competitor e-tailer of jewellery and accessory, Voylla.com has raised Rs. 2. 5 crores from Pune based Snow Leopard Technology Ventures. While in the same month, CaratLane.com also closed Series C funding amounting to $15 million USD from its existing investor Tiger Global. This was company’s third round of funding taking the stake of the investor to $27 million.
