Nexus Venture backed Mumbai based real estate portal Housing.com (earlier Housing.co.in) has added a new feature called Price Heat Maps. Available on its website, the feature help users gauge price variations in the properties across the city. The feature works on colour coded, the map shows localities tainted in a gradation from red to green to indicate high to low prices. Users can simply hover over a locality and find the average price of its houses.
The Housing Data Science Lab’s team of Data Scientists has studied the price variable in markets of different cities and come up with a simple graphic representation for people. The Price Heat Map is now available for the cities of Mumbai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Noida and Ghaziabad. The Price Heat Map is available for both services, rent and buy and even allows the users to choose the rate according to the area or the number of rooms.
In September this year, Housing.co.in has bought Housing.com domain and a national number 03-333-333-333 for a total sum of over $1 million. The domain has been bought at $500k. This has been dubbed as the first step towards expanding internationally. It is expected to hit its first international expansion within the next six months.
The company will continue to hold ownership of Housing.co.in and users accessing the domain will be redirected to Housing.com.
The venture has been on expansion spree and has expanded its operations in Chennai, Ghaziabad and Noida recently. The addition of Ghaziabad and Noida comes as a boost to Housing’s presence in the NCR constituency while Chennai is Housing’s South Indian debut city.
In June this year, Housing.co.in raised $2.5mn funding from Nexus Venture Partners. In March the company raised a second round of funding from former Network 18 CEO, Haresh Chawla. The amount remains undisclosed. In February this year, the startup has raised an undisclosed sum from a group of angel investors, led by Zishaan Hayath.
It also appointed Richa Bansal, the founder and former managing director of online jewellery portal, 21Diamonds.in as Chief Business Officer.
