Online travel company, ClearTrip has started online facility for users to reschedule their flights instead doing it over the phone. Users can reschedule their flights, change dates, sectors and time of flight. Even if a multiple booking has been made, user can select and change the booking of one particular passenger, without touching the rest of the scheduled tickets.
The company has arguably become the first OTA to offer this feature as other players in the space allow online cancelling of the tickets but not rescheduling. Presently, the feature is only applicable to domestic flight bookings only.
“We made this feature live yesterday, and we’ve already seen huge uptake on the very first day, even before the announcement. As many as half of the total flight changes yesterday were made online, instead of on the phone with customer care,” read a statement from ClearTrip.
ClearTrip has also waived off amendment fees of Rs 300 for itinerary changes done online. However, the customers will have to pay the standard amendment fee charged by the airlines.
The company introduced feature called ‘Pricewatch’ which works for international flight bookings in February this year. Once a user books an international flight ticket, Pricewatch kicks in and starts monitoring any drop in the fare and if it falls by more than the associated change fees, Pricewatch automatically reprices user’s tickets refunding the difference to the user’s bank or credit card account.
