Star India pays Rs. 6138 crores to BCCI for media rights

Star India picked up the media rights from BCCI for International and domestic cricket for next 5 years , till 2023.
The e-auction process saw Sony, Star and Reliance trying to outbid each other, however it was Star India who picked up the rights for BCCI – International and domestic cricket in 3 categories:-
- The Global TV Rights plus Rest of World (ROW) Digital Rights package
- Indian sub-continent Digital Rights package
- Global Consolidated Rights package.
The base price for digital rights per match was estimated at Rs, 8 crore per match for first year, Rs. 7 crore per match thereafter for next 4 years.
The base price for Television rights was Rs. 35 crore per match for first year, Rs. 33 crore per match thereafter for next 4 years.
The Indian team is expected to play 22 Tests, 42 ODIs and 38 Twenty20 Internationals at home in the next five-year cycle.
