According to ComScore India, Times Internet’s ZigWheels.com was the first portal to cross 2 Million + UV’s in June 2012 reaching 34% of auto category audience in India in that month followed by a peak of 39% in September 2012. ZigWheels.com is also credited for having the highest average monthly category share (UV’s) of 30%+ amongst the competition in FY12 and was number one for 7 out of 12 months. In the first half of FY 13, ZigWheels.com has already been No.1 in 4 out of 6 months of H1-FY13 with highest average monthly category UV share of 32% .ZigWheels grew faster than the category in FY12 and continues to grow faster than the category in FY 13 as well.
Speaking to India Digital Review about the factors responsible for attaining these numbers, Akshay Chaturvedi, Business Head, ZigWheels said that people are no longer looking for prices only and they want to evaluate, read reviews, do comparisons, check images and ask experts. “That is why ZigWheels strikes sync with users as it is positioned as the expert voice that lets users take the best and most informed decision. We also have specialty content around guides that share information on tyres, fuel efficiency and DIY car care, among other things including an exhaustive section on motorsport,” added Chaturvedi.
Akshay Chaturvedi also informed that ZIgWheels is creating specialty content around events and allied categories opening up sponsorships as a revenue stream for us. “2013 would see launch of new products and services, larger use of technology and a rounded presence across all digital platforms. Besides focusing on our users, we would also enhance our retail side of offerings by introducing better modules for car dealers to showcase their inventory and products on our website,” he added.
