Zapak in talks with local players to launch its gaming portal in Brazil, Russia, China

Zapak Digital Entertainment, a part of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, is reportedly in talks with local players in Brazil, Russia and China in order to launch its online gaming portal Zapak.com in the local languages. The move is aimed at expanding Zapak’s operations into BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries.

Zapak Digital Entertainment, a part of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, is reportedly in talks with local players in Brazil, Russia and China in order to launch its online gaming portal Zapak.com in the local languages. The move is aimed at expanding Zapak’s operations into BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries.

“BRIC countries will play a key role in the global entertainment and media industry in the coming future. Also, there is a tremendous increase in the number of internet users in BRIC countries. We are looking to exploit opportunities in those markets by launching gaming portals in local languages,” Rajesh Sawhney, president, Reliance Big Entertainment, has told Financial Express.

According to a joint report by FICCI and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), the entertainment and media industry is expected to grow at an annual rate of 13 per cent in China, 8.3 per cent in Russia and 7.7 per cent in Brazil. There are about 200 million internet users in China, while about 43 million people use the Net in Brazil. Russia has between 40 and 50 million internet users.
