YouTube increases upload limit of a video from current 10 minutes to 15 minutes

Google-owned video networking site YouTube has increased the maximum time limit of a video that can be uploaded on the site from the current 10 minutes to 15 minutes for all its users. However, the company has clarified that “if you are uploading a video that was previously rejected for being too long, you will have to go into ‘My Videos’ and delete it before attempting to upload it again.”

YouTube has also launched a new initiative under which anyone can make a video of their ‘15 minutes of fame,’ tag the video with ‘yt15minutes’, upload it on the site by Wednesday, August 4, 2010 and the company will select a ‘handful of people’ to truly gain their 15 minutes of fame by featuring them on the YouTube homepage in a future spotlight.
