Yahoo launches new internet browsing tool Axis

Yahoo has unveiled a new internet browsing tool, Axis. The
browser, unveiled on Wednesday at Apple app store, claims to display search
results in a more convenient fashion, rather than a ‘page full of ten blue
links’. Yahoo has also said that it is trying to develop a better browser.

Axis can be used as a plug in with most browsers like Google
Chrome and Mozilla Firefox for desk computers. The mobile version is now
limited to iPad, iPhone and iPod, and apps for other mobile devices are in the
process of developing.

Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Bing is also trying to come up with a
feature that will display search results in three columns, with one of them
showing personalized recommendations from people on Facebook, Twitter and other
social networking sites.

Yahoo and Bing have an ongoing partnership to
improve searching facilities and lure away customers from Google. The move has
met with little success; and while Google maintains its dominance, Yahoo’s fortunes
have declined further. Yahoo hopes that Axis will be popular with Apple users.
