Yahoo India to transfer 200 search engineers to Microsoft

The transfer is part of a 10-year deal signed between the two companies in July 2009. Under the deal, Microsoft’s search engine Bing will power Yahoo search while Yahoo will become the exclusive worldwide relationship sales force for both companies’ premium search advertisers.

According to Satya Nadella, senior vice president, research and development, Microsoft, the 200 engineers from Yahoo India will move to a development centre that Microsoft has set up in Bangalore to focus on development and research for its Online Services Division (OSD). [Source: PC World]
