Wodka Gorbatschow India launches virtual bar on Facebook to connect with the youth

Wodka Gorbatschow, the German vodka brand that entered India in June 2008, has launched a Facebook application, called Gorbatschow Bar, to connect with the youth. The virtual bar allows users to prepare a virtual cocktail by selecting ingredients, glass type, mixing method and garnishes and then name the drink and share it with their friends on the social networking site.

Wodka Gorbatschow, the German vodka brand that entered India in June 2008, has launched a Facebook application, called Gorbatschow Bar, to connect with the youth. The virtual bar allows users to prepare a virtual cocktail by selecting ingredients, glass type, mixing method and garnishes and then name the drink and share it with their friends on the social networking site.

The application has been conceptualised and developed by Quasar Media, which handles the brand’s digital duties. According to Deepak Gandhi, assistant account director, Quasar, the agency interacted with bartenders from five-star hotels in the country to figure out various ingredients, quantity details, types of glasses and mixing techniques, required to prepare cocktails.

Akshara Pradhan, brand manager, Wodka Gorbatschow, has said, “Wodka Gorbatschow is a new brand in India. We not only want to create awareness about the brand, but also look forward to engage consumers and let them figure out that Wodka Gorbatschow is pure and clear vodka, which can mix easily and can be experienced as various cocktail flavours.” [Source: Afaqs]
