WAYN considering India entry; claims to have 3.3 million users in India

UK-based WAYN.com, a travel and lifestyle social network
with over 16.5 million members worldwide is planning an entry in the Indian
market. WAYN’s co-founder and co-CEO Jerome Touze will be visiting India in June
2011 to meet media companies and digital agencies in the social media space.

2011 to meet media companies and digital agencies in the social media space.

According to the company, WAYN has 3.3 million users in
India and are keen to set up operations in the country. WAYN is featured among
the top 400 sites in India and among the top 1,200 websites worldwide. WAYN’s
strategy has been to focus on intentions broadcasting, capturing what users
want to do and where they want to go, opening up many targeting opportunities
to advertisers.

WAYN (an acronym for Where Are You Now?) was founded in 2002
in London by Jerome Touze, Peter Ward (Co-CEO) and Mike Lines (CTO). It was
presented to the public in May 2003 having secured financial backing from
Stephen Pankhurst, the founder of the well known UK school reunion site Friends
Reunited
