VeriSign to recognise 25 pioneering .com companies, individuals

VeriSign, a provider of internet infrastructure services for the networked world, plans to recognise 25 pioneering .com companies and individuals who have had a lasting impact on internet’s development. VeriSign has already shortlisted 75 people and companies for the ‘.com 25’ award. The winners will be announced at an event in San Francisco, US, on May 26, 2010.

VeriSign, a provider of internet infrastructure services for the networked world, plans to recognise 25 pioneering .com companies and individuals who have had a lasting impact on internet’s development. VeriSign has already shortlisted 75 people and companies for the ‘.com 25’ award. The winners will be announced at an event in San Francisco, US, on May 26, 2010.

The shortlisted people include Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google, Jerry Yang of Yahoo, Bill Gates of Microsoft, Steve Jobs of Apple, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com, Pierre Omidyar of eBay, Marc Andreessen of Netscape, John Chambers of Cisco, and Tim Berners-Lee (the inventor of World Wide Web).

Twitter, Blogger.com, Flickr, YouTube, LinkedIn, Craigslist, Digg, Match.com, Monster.com, Walmart.com, Netflix, PayPal, Expedia, TripAdvisor, Baidu.com, CNet, Gawker, Huffington Post, Motley Fool, The Onion, Wired and Infosys are some of the companies which have found their place in the shortlist for the ‘.com 25’ award.
