Urban Ladder bets big on ‘sleep’ category

Online furniture and home decor startup Urban Ladder, which forayed into the mattress category in April, 2015, is witnessing unprecedented 30% month-on-month growth in addition to doubling sales from the category in the last quarter.

 

Buoyed by the success, the company is expanding its footprint in the sleep category, it said in a statement.

 

Keeping in mind the unique needs of Indian customers, Urban Ladder has tailored international level mattresses in tandem with the different sleep requirements, it said.

Keeping in mind the unique needs of Indian customers, Urban Ladder has tailored international level mattresses in tandem with the different sleep requirements, it said.

 

“Indians have traditionally not been very conscious on investing in their sleep. However, with the changing times, this pattern is witnessing a shift. At Urban Ladder, we are taking a step ahead and investing in a team that would innovate for the Indian consumers’ needs,” said Prithvi Raj Tejavath, vice-president, category management, Urban Ladder.

 

“In our bid to make homes beautiful, we want to provide our customers the very best of comfortable living. We foresee rapid strides of growth in the sleep category,” he added.

 

The company, co-founded by Ashish Goel (CEO) and Rajiv Srivatsa (COO) in July 2012, claims to have over 4,000 products and 35 categories such as wardrobes, sofas, beds, dining tables, storage shelves, etc.
