New Delhi-based travel management company Culture Holidays India is running a full length song on radio to promote its online travel portal TravelChacha.com. According to Culture Holidays, the radio campaign is targeted at the office-goers and is currently being played by different FM radio stations including Radio One which is playing it in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata; Radio City in Delhi; Radio Mirchi and My FM in Punjab; and Rainbow which has taken the rights for the rest of India.
“The office going class regularly listens to radio even while driving to their office and hence we have launched the campaign on this medium. The objective of the campaign is to build the brand of TravelChacha.com and to add recall value to our target customer. We are also planning more campaigns through SMS and TV activities,†Guneshwori Philem, general manager, Culture Holidays, has told AlooTechie.
TravelChacha.com was launched in February 2007 and claims to sell around 360,000 tickets per year. “We have around 50,000 registered users and most of our users are mainly from cities like Delhi, Bombay, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, and Pune. Our ‘holiday package’ section is the most favoured segment on the site,†Philem added.
The website provides online car booking in around 200 Indian cities and has partnership with over 500 vendors. For hotel bookings, the site has partnered with around 5000 hotels in India and 7000 international hotels. TravelChacha has currently no plans to have railway ticket booking service on its website.
The company is also planning to open a franchise network of outlets in all the major destinations of the Indian subcontinent. “The outlets will provide our consumers with options of face-to-face discussions with our local travel experts and also allow them to make their payment by cash for booking airline tickets, hotels, cars and tour packages,†added Philem.
