Top Myntra official quits, to start consumer technology venture

Ganesh Subramanian has quit as the head of new
initiatives at Flipkart-owned fashion retailer Myntra to set up a consumer
technology start-up.

 

 

“I am starting something on my own in the
consumer internet space,” he told the Economic
Times
. A spokesperson for Myntra said Subramanian will continue at the
company until October end.

Myntra, which recently discontinued its web presence
to go app-only, hopes to become profitable by 2016-17 as it phases out
discounts and generates higher margins from online apparel sale.

Flipkart had bought Myntra for nearly Rs 2,000 crore
in May 2014, in one of the biggest mergers in Indian e-commerce.
