Times Business Solutions, which owns job portal TimesJobs.com, matrimony site SimplyMarry.com and real estate portal MagicBricks.com, is preparing to launch PeerPower.com, an invitation only exclusive business networking site that will seek to help senior executives profit from the network. PeerPower is expected to start inviting people to join the network in July or August 2008.

Currently, there is a small team of about 10 people working on PeerPower.com. The team mainly consists of technical and product people. Rajat Gandhi, GM of Times Business Solutions, is looking after the product launch. But there is no marketing activity happening at the moment, a source at Times Business Solutions informs AlooTechie.

Primarily, PeerPower.com will be a networking site for business and not jobs. It will have nothing to do with TimesJobs.com. The site will seek to help people grow their business and not get jobs. PeerPower is intended for someone wanting to enter into an alliance, looking to get new business or professional help, the source explains.

To begin with PeerPower.com will focus on senior executives from India but later it may even invite people from abroad. People once invited to the business networking site would be able to invite other people but there will be a moderation to ensure that only senior level people who can create value for the network join the site.

“The idea is to help professionals in various things,” Rajat Gandhi, GM, Times Business Solutions, has told AlooTechie. “Right now I don’t think there is a business networking site in the country. Of course, LinkedIn is there but it’s more for getting jobs than anything else. PeerPower is intended to be an exclusive professional network, not open for anybody. It’s for people who are successful, have influence over other people, and who can profit from each other, like entrepreneurs, CEOs, vice presidents and general managers, even editors.”
