Digital rights management company TechShot Digital will be hosting a live interactive chat show of Virender Sehwag on his Facebook page at 9 pm on September 9, 2010. Besides directly logging on to Facebook, Sehwag’s fans can also send their queries to the cricketer from Twitter, YouTube and his official website SehwagWorld.com.
One can also call or SMS the cricketer on the short code 5664441. According to TechShot Digital (TSD), over 77,000 fans have already confirmed attending the event. The chat show will be telecasted on CNN-IBN and IBN–7 as well. TechShot Digital claims that this is the first time ever that an Indian cricketer will be interacting LIVE to establish a direct connect with his fans.
“It’s not often that fans from not only India but all across the world get an opportunity to interact with their favourite cricketers live and vice versa. The stars themselves seldom get a chance to interact with their fans for an extended period, hence the idea of this live interactive chat. The motive behind this event is to enable the star himself to reach out to millions of his fans simultaneously and have a two way interaction in a manner which would not be possible otherwise,†Pankaj Rahul Singh, Director and COO, TechShot Digital, has told AlooTechie.
According to Pankaj Rahul Singh, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter have become integral parts of almost everyone’s digital life today. “No other platform will give an opportunity to enable millions of fans at the same time to connect with the star. Also, for some time now Sehwag has been interacting with his fans on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube very actively and with over 50,000 fans on Facebook and over 100,000 followers on Twitter who follow him religiously coupled with YouTube’s ever growing fanbase, it was only logical to integrate the chat with all platforms to ensure the biggest audience for this event,†Pankaj Rahul Singh has added.
