US-based blog search engine Technorati has launched Technorati Media, a blog advertising network that will be open to large as well as small blogs and sell ads on a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) basis.

“Technorati was founded to help bloggers succeed and to bring audiences to blog content. Given our unique position of running a blog search engine, an ad network geared towards helping blog and social media publishers at every level to make some money just made sense,” Richard Jalichandra, CEO, Technorati, has said.

According to Richard Jalichandra, Technorati is uniquely positioned to sell ads at premium rates, even through small blogs, because they will be able to use descriptive tags/keywords, along with their existing blog indexing technology, to better match ads with content. [Source: TechCrunch]
