Target Corporation, the second-biggest discount store retailer in the United States has recently introduced new mobile payment system available for both Android and iOS (Apple) versions of the Target app called “Wallet”.
“The latest smart way of payment will help guests to pay and save at Target stores. With Wallet, guests can pay using their Target REDcard and save with Cartwheel—all in a single scan of their phones at checkout,” reads a statement issued by the company.
This new payment system also allows faster in-store checkout—up to four times faster than other payment types. Wallet uses a barcode scanned at check out that includes payment and applicable coupons.
“Wallet in the Target app makes checkout easier and faster than ever,” said Mike McNamara, Target’s chief information and digital officer.
“Guests are going to love the convenience of having payment, Cartwheel offers, Weekly Ad coupons and GiftCards all in one place with Wallet,” added Mike McNamara.
