Studds Accessories eyes 15% of total revenues from ecommerce venture for 2011-2012 fiscal

Indian manufacturer and exporter of helmets and two wheeler accessories Studds has launched an ecommerce website where users can access, check price, and order all products online. Launched on January 10, 2011, the website has already received more than 50 orders and on an average, the company has started receiving two orders per day through the website. Studds expects that by the end of the financial year 2011-2012, their ecommerce venture will contribute to 15 per cent of the company’s total revenues.

Explaining to AlooTechie about the objective behind launching this ecommerce venture, Sidharth Khurana, managing director, Studds Accessories, said, “The website will create a world of opportunity and help to establish new relationships with potential customers, potential business associates. The idea is to be available to the customers 24 x 7. This would help in enhancing the brand and product awareness.”

The website has been designed and managed by New Delhi-based agency Redefining IT. Speaking about marketing plans for the website, Jeetin Ghai, founder, Redefining IT, said, “Besides organic search engine optimisation (SEO), social media marketing, and banner advertisements we will also do a lot of offline promotion across reputed auto magazines.”
