SimplyBooks.in expects to earn revenues of Rs 1 crore in FY 2010-11

Gurgaon-based eMinds Knowledge Services has launched an online bookstore SimplyBooks.in. According to eMinds, the online bookstore has already sold around 500 books since its launch on February 5, 2010. The company is expecting to earn revenues of Rs 1 crore from SimplyBooks in the financial year 2010-11.

The company is expecting to earn revenues of Rs 1 crore from SimplyBooks in the financial year 2010-11.

“The majority of orders on SimplyBooks have come from West and South India. As of now, around 10,000 books are available on the site from leading publishers like Tata McGraw, Wiley, Rupa, Harvard and Oxford and we are in talks with Penguin, Taylor and Francis, and Macmillan,” Preeti Pahwa, co-founder, SimplyBooks.in, has said.

Speaking about the idea behind launching SimplyBooks.in, Preeti Pahwa said, “It is our endeavour to ensure that books are available to all especially in Tier II and III cities at good discounts backed by a fast and reliable delivery. We deliver books for free all over India within four working days.” According to Pahwa, SimplyBooks is a self-funded venture and is backed by a team of 10 people. The company plans to raise funds for expansion in 2010-2011.
