Media and entertainment company Shemaroo Entertainment has acquired digital rights of regional language labels and content owners across the country and aims to monetise the same on its digital platforms like mobile, internet and IPTV.

The company has tied-up with labels like Fountain Music, Navrang, SS Communications, Veena Music, Kavithalayaa Productions, Video World, and Simran Music Industries and acquired digital rights for traditional to contemporary content of various genres like Devotional Music, Folk, Pop, Romantic, Classical, Ghazals, Children Songs, Qawwali, Sufi, And Ravindra Sangeet.
With these acquisitions, Shemaroo’s digital library now include both audio and video content across more than 20 languages like Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Himachali, Garhwali, Haryanvi, Nepali and others.
In a related development, Shemaroo has also released a bouquet of 15 minutes movies which will be distributed through digital media platforms like wap, internet and IPTV. The movies are smartly edited packages that have songs, important scenes and dialogues from the film along with a narrator who adds a completeness to the story of the film. For this, the company has listed more than 50 films including recent films like Ishqiya, No Entry, Dus, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Khwaish, and classics like Mughal-E-Azam, Mera Naam Joker and Amar Akbar Anthony, etc are ready in the library.
