Now, online ride-sharing startup Tripda brings its services to the city of Chandigarh. With its India operations headquartered in New Delhi and teams working in Mumbai and Pune, the free to use pan India platform has now turned its attention to the booming city of Chandigarh. This is the fourth city that the company will be operational in just three months after its launch.

Tripda Country Manager, Mr. Nitish Bhushan elaborated on the expansion saying, “We are thrilled with the response Tripda has received throughout the country so far. This makes us eager to expand our footprint to new geographies as soon as possible. Chandigarh is an ideal hub for both short-distance and inter-city carpooling. We are looking to target traffic within the Chandigarh region as well as to distant cities like Delhi, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Shimla, etc. Be it vacationers, students, professionals, traders, everyone is a potential Tripda user in Chandigarh.”

With all kinds of universities, be it big or small, public or private promoting the concept of carpooling, the top management of Tripda will be fostering key partnerships with universities as well as corporates in the coming few days. The objective is to facilitate students and working professionals to travel safely while spending less. Tripda will also be recruiting initial team members in the area to manage on-ground expansion efforts on a daily basis.

Founded in 2014, Tripda is a global platform rapidly expanding throughout Asia, Latin America and North America. Tripda connects people making similar trips so that everyone wins: the driver, the passenger and the environment.  Tripda is backed by Berlin-based and recently listed Rocket Internet, the world’s largest Internet platform outside of China and the United States, which identifies and builds proven Internet business models and transfers them to new, underserved or untapped markets where it seeks to scale them into market leading online companies.
