Rediff launches mobile email service Rediffmail NG available for Rs 50 per month

Rediff.com has launched Rediffmail NG, a mobile email service that will allow mobile phone users to send and receive unlimited email, look up contacts, assign tasks to the calendar and set reminders with the same ease from mobile devices as from their PC. According to the company, Rediffmail NG is available for Rs 50 per month, inclusive of data charges.

Ajit Balakrishnan, chairman and CEO, Rediff.com, has said, “With Rediffmail NG, we offer an affordable email service for the mass market, helping individuals communicate and conduct business anywhere and anytime, enabling Indian entrepreneurs to compete with the world. Even small-sized business owners will now have a cost-effective way to equip their employees with mobile communications and increase productivity.”

According to Rediff.com, Rediffmail NG works across mobile phone platforms including Symbian, Java and Android, as well as on close to 200 mobile phone models from over two dozen manufacturers, including entry level phones which cost as little as Rs 2,000.

Rediff.com has further informed that Rediffmail NG offers seamless service across a user’s phone and PC. Users of Rediffmail NG can maintain service upon switching phones. Rediffmail NG can be purchased from Rediff.com by clicking on the Rediffmail NG icon and following a few steps. The service can also be obtained by sending an SMS with the text message ‘mail’ to 57333.

“Rediffmail NG is simply the latest in a line of innovative products from our company. Globally, the mobile application economy is gaining momentum and companies are slowly shifting to a subscription based revenue model.
