RechargeItNow.com, a web based mobile recharge platform run by Gurgaon-based Online Recharge Services Limited has said that portal should be delivering Rs 100 crore of recharge per month in 2011. RechargeItNow was launched in 2009 and currently provides over 100,000 daily recharges and has a registered base of around two million users.

Speaking to AlooTechie about the company’s plans to make the service more popular, Sharat Jain, president and co-founder, Online Recharge Services, said, “We have created a recharge platform for prepaid top-up which is service independent. So far our focus has been to provide services for as many service providers as possible in mobile and DTH domain both being the largest consumed prepaid services in India. The website has potential to grow with addition of new service providers as well through addition of new services like toll, transport and utilities which are moving towards prepaid billing. Ours is a platform where you can top-up all prepaid services which a household consumes.”

Besides mobile recharge, RechargeItNow also provides DTH recharge service and according to the company, mobile recharge is clearly the front runner. According to Jain, Airtel and Dish TV get more mindshare on the site and that again can be attributed to the largest subscriber base they have in their respective domains.

Online search drives substantial traffic to the website followed by operator sites and referrals. “Also repeat customers make up 45 per cent of our all up traffic and that has been a consistent number. Geo centrically speaking, users from top metros and Tier I and II towns spread across India transact more, largely because of deeper penetration of net banking, credit and debit cards,” Sharat Jain has added.

The website is directly weaved into the service provider’s backend processes across the mobile and DTH space. “At one level of the partnership, we drive recharges for our service provider’s customer base on our platform and at another we provide white label solutions to operators which also drives traffic to our site but more importantly stands testament to the faith and confidence operators have on our ability to deliver an easy to use and robust solutions to their customer base,” said Jain.
