Another portal BrandAdda.com, which was launched by Bangalore-based SmartCrowds Software in December 2008 to allow users to create a brand specific community where the brand and its consumers could interact with each other, has decided to shut down.

According to BrandAdda.com, challenges that the company faced while running the portal included the lack of a founding partner, the absence of an experienced marketing person on the team, difficulty in hiring quality talent as people preferred cash compensation than equity, brands not appreciating social media, and internet still attracting a tiny fraction of brands’ overall marketing budget.
