Pune-based Discrete Log Technologies has launched Bandhan.com , a matrimony search engine that enables users to search profiles from multiple matrimony websites. According to the company, Bandhan aims to consolidate the matrimony search for users who are not certain about which matrimony website to visit.

Speaking to AlooTechie, Shashikant Kore, co-founder, Discrete Log Technologies, said, “There are many users who find it complex to decide on which matrimony website to subscribe to for finding out a perfect match. Searching out for the best suited profile is a cumbersome process and hence this is our experiment to consolidate the matrimony market in the country.”

On launching a vertical search engine, Kore said, “Verticals are the call of the hour and especially in the matrimony market. The matrimony market in India is presently in a scattered state and one needs to combine the market. Bandhan will try to bring together all the matrimonial websites on a consolidated platform.”

According to Shashikant Kore, Bandhan.com will be promoted both through online and print media advertisements. “Print is still a preferred medium for matrimonial searches and hence we plan to promote our brand in the print media as well,” he said.

Identifying the potential competitors, Kore said, “In.com has around six vertical search engines and matrimony is one of them. Besides, I don’t think there are too many matrimonial search engines available.”

Discrete Log plans to monetize Bandhan.com through advertisements. “Presently, we are in an experimental stage and are not focussing on monetizing the product. However, if the service gets enough users, we will definitely monetize it through advertisements,” added Shashikant Kore.
