Number of broadband subscribers grows by 66% at 3.9 million

According to figures released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the number of broadband subscribers in the country has grown by 66 per cent at 3.90 million in March 2008, as compared to 2.34 million recorded a year ago.

On month on month, the number of broadband subscribers increased by 12.4 per cent from 3.47 million in February 2008. TRAI defines broadband as internet speed equal or greater than 256 Kbps download.
