Number of broadband subscribers crosses 8 million in India: TRAI

According to figures released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the number of broadband subscribers in the country has grown by 2.42 per cent at 8.03 million in January 2010, as compared to 7.83 million in December 2009. TRAI defines broadband as internet speed equal or greater than 256 Kbps (kilobit per second) download.
