NSIC to launch online B2B marketplace for SMEs by Oct 2011

The National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) has said
that it is working on developing an online business-to-business (B2B)
marketplace which would focus exclusively on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The portal is expected to be live by October 2011 and businesses can list themselves
on the NSIC portal for an annual fee of Rs 5,000, and gain access to a big
database of 2,50,000 potential customers.

“We are building the international portal
for SMEs similar to Alibaba.com. Buyers and sellers will be able to do business
between themselves without any intervention,” H P Kumar, chairman and
managing director, NSIC has said.
