Top News launches online contest, NRI Power Podium

by Kriti Malhotra has launched an online contest, called NRI Power Podium, which provides NRIs (non-resident Indians) an opportunity to win ‘an all expense paid trip to India’ and attend Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2011 to be held on 7-9 January in New Delhi. Launched on November 6, 2010, the contest is expected to help create awareness about among NRIs living across the world.

Sandip Maiti, CEO, Experience Commerce, has said, “ is a unique social platform which focuses on addressing issues related to investment, money, real-estate, and legal that are a perennial source of challenge for the non-resident Indian. The idea has already been well received by audiences abroad – now this campaign will hopefully increase its visibility and help seed the destination with an active and vocal NRI audience.”

According to Sandip Maiti, the NRI Power Podium campaign invites contestants to answer specific questions related to investment, legal and cultural matters. The contestants would have to get as creative as they can, and then collect votes for themselves. The three participants with best answers and maximum votes will win the contest. The contest is being promoted through social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. was launched in August 2010 by Mumbai-based digital agency Experience Commerce to reach out to NRIs and PIOs (persons of Indian origin) and help them find simple solutions in the matters of finance, real estate, citizen law and investments. The platform connects influential NRIs, PIOs and India-centric community from around the world. The service is offered free of charge and driven solely by voluntary efforts from experts in relevant domains.
